FreeTextToCAD
One part. One export.
Describe a single printable part. Get a clean STL.
Free browser CAD for makers. Build hooks, brackets, washers, mounts, and enclosures with real millimeter dimensions, then send them straight to your slicer.
Built around one solid at a time. That focus is what keeps the models clean and printable.
How it works
Made for people who need one small part today, not a CAD license.
Describe
One part, with dimensions in millimeters.
Generate
The AI plans and builds it in your browser.
Refine
Adjust with sliders or typed changes until it fits.
Export
Download STL or OBJ for your slicer.
Built for printable parts
The best results come from specific, dimensioned prompts. Here are the kinds of parts people make every day:
- Wall hooks and hangers
- L-brackets and mounts
- Washers, spacers, and bushings
- Knobs, caps, and simple fixtures
- Electronics enclosures and trays
- Funnels, pipes, and duct adapters
Example prompt: A 30mm wall hook with a 4mm screw hole at the top and a 25mm arm
Pick a lane
Three ways to make a model — choose the path that matches what you actually have: a dimensioned part, a photo relief product, or feature-based CAD.
Describe a part
Hooks, brackets, enclosures, adapters. Millimeters in, an OpenCascade STL out.

Turn a picture into a lithophane, relief plaque, silhouette keychain, or cookie cutter.

Frequently asked questions
Is FreeTextToCAD free?
Yes. There is no account and nothing to install. Describe one part, generate a 3D model in your browser, and export STL or OBJ.
Do you make assemblies?
Not yet for full assemblies. CAD Studio is an early, experimental preview of feature-based editing — sketches, a feature tree, and multi-body parts — if you want to explore that direction.
Can it make screws, gears, and other hardware shapes?
Yes, you can ask for bolts, knobs, gears, adapters, and similar parts. Printed threads and gears work best when they are a bit oversized, so include the size you need and test the fit.
Do I need to install software?
No. Everything runs in your web browser. The CAD engine loads once (about 60 MB) and then builds models locally on your device.
What kinds of parts work best?
One small printable part with clear dimensions: hooks, brackets, washers, knobs, mounts, enclosures, and trays. Full assemblies are out of scope for now. For pictorial shapes from a photo, use Photo to 3D Print.
Can it make a model of an animal, a face, a vase, or a logo?
Starting from a picture, use Photo to 3D Print for lithophanes, keychains, cookie cutters, and relief plaques. For mechanical parts with dimensions, use the Generator. Feature-based modeling lives in CAD Studio.
